Sorrelpaw walked slightly behind the cat she was with, eyes fixed on him. The young she-cat was quite amazed that another cat actually offered to go out with her, to hunt. It never happened, and it definately was never anyone she'd actually do it with. But this tom was different. Overall, he was nice, but it was really more than that to the young she-cat.
However, the apprentice's mind elsewhere, she didn't notice him stop, and this didn't notice herself walking into him. As soon as she did, Sorrelpaw leapt back as if she had just been snapped at by a dog. "I'm s-sorry!" she stammered, still stepping back. "P-please don't be angry at m-me!"
"Huh?" Turning back to face her, the tom let out a small laugh. "Calm down Sorrelpaw, I'm not going to hurt you or something. And I'm not angry at you." Bluepatch said. "Still, you haven't answered my question. I'd guess you didn't hear it?"
"Qu-question?" Sorrelpaw asked in a rather stupid manner. Quickly she shook her head, perhaps a bit too much. "N-no, I didn't h-hear you question. Sorry B-Bluepatch."

"You don't have to say sorry to me all the time, it's perfectly all right." he said, shaking his head. Turning around, the white and blue tom walked over to her, stopping about a mouse length away. "Well, I guess I'll repeat it. I was just asking what was up with you. I actually asked you why you wanted to come out with me, then asked what was wrong with you. No need to answer them though."
"Uh..." Sorrelpaw just stood there, looking down at the ground. "I-I didn't r-really, I mean, you said y-you come out with me, I d-didn't follow you out. I w-wouldn't want to bother you l-like that." Looking up to him for a moment, the young she-cat took a step back, moving forward elsewhere. "And I-I was just thinking a bit ago, that's a-all. M-maybe we should get going?" She didn't want to stand here looking like an idiot in front of the tom.
Bluepatch watched the apprentice for a moment. "Yeah, I guess you're right. Alright, let's get going then. Afterall, the faster we get done hunting, the faster we can get back to camp, right? I'm sure you don't like to be out much, especially not without Meadowleaf."
"Huh? Oh-uh...y-yeah, I guess so..." As soon as Sorrelpaw knew he wasn't looking, the she-cat's face dropped. He thinks I should just be around Meadowleaf all the time. It's true though, I'm just more pathetic when I'm not around her. And nobody pay attention to me when Meadowleaf is with me, which is for the best apparently.

Sorrelpaw's head rose as she scented something. A mouse...but where. Ears turning like a radar, she could tell it was near. "Bl-Bluepatch, there's..." But before she could finish her sentence, the young she-cat could see where it was with the slightl movement of a bush, and darted at it. She went into the bush for a brief moment, though emerged just as quickly, a mouse now in her jaws.
"Hey, good catch there Sorrelpaw." Bluepatch said, walking over to her. "I didn't even scent or hear it." The blue and white tom gave her a nod of congratulations, then asked, "Do you want to keep going? Maybe I'll get lucky and actually catch something, if my old self lets me."
"Y-Y-You're not old!" she exclaimed, quite loud. "I mean, I, uh..."
"I was just joking Sorrelpaw." he said, smiling at her, but still giving her an odd look. "But thanks for not thinking that. Anyways, you want to get going then?" Watching her nod, Bluepatch began to walk on, just in front of her. She certainly is a timid little thing. She shouldn't be though, she's a great apprentice, and she'll probably be a great warrior soon.

"Oh, y-yeah, right." she muttered, looking at him for a moment. Sorrelpaw held her head down low, not wanting the tom to see her blushing. Sighing silently to herself, she continued behind him, about a tail length away.
After awhile, Bluepatch looked back. "Hey Sorrelpaw, you doing alright? You've been really quiet. Not that you are usually very talkative, but still." The tom stopped as he finished talking, eyes completely fixed on her. "You want to talk? I think we should, I'm sure you're quite interesting when you get to talking. What would you like to talk about?"

"M-me? Talk about? Uh..." Sorrelpaw had no clue what she wanted to talk about. She never began a conversation, and when she did actually engage in one, it wasn't one she had much to say in. "Uh...I-I don't know? I-I don't... usually g-get to choose. Th-there's nothing to talk about, I-I'm just some silly, b-boring cat."
"Oh, nonsense Sorrelpaw." he said, grinning at her. Turning around, Bluepatch walked over to her, nudging the small she-cat. "Now come on, I'm sure there's something, anything, you want to talk about? You're a lot more interesting than you think you are. Come on, think of somethingm I know you can think of something."
Sorrelpaw looked down for a moment, or really the entire time the warrior was by her. She didn't want him to see her blush, even if she wasn't blushing too badly. "I-I... uh... d-did you like being an apprentice? I'm not too fond of it really." Hearing heself, the she-cat jolted herself back. What a stupid question!

"Okay, well..hmm, I don't know." Thinking over it, Bluepatch shrugged. "You know, it was okay I suppose. But when I was an apprentice I had lots of friends, all my denmates I had as kits. That was even back when your sister was Meadowpaw, though that wasn't for long. But I can see why you're not too fond of it. You're like, the only apprentice, aren't you? Or you're one of the few. And I know, you're a shy cat. But you really shouldn't be, really Sorrelpaw. You're a great hunter, and I bet you're just as good at fighting. I'm sure you could do anything you put your mind to."
Sorrelpaw jumped back some, still looking down. "I-I'm horrible at everything I d-do. Everyone knows that." she muttered, voice low. The young she-cat had very low self esteem, and it probably would never change. Still, she enjoyed that Bluepatch actually thought that of her.

"Ahh, come on Sorrelpaw. Trust me, give yourself a bit longer. If you still think like this when you're a warrior, then there's something wrong with you." Seeing the frightened look on her face, Bluepatch quickly said, "I was just kidding Sorrelpaw. Some cats think themself inferior. And maybe in some cases that's true. Though not with you, trust me."
"If she won't listen to me, then I doubt she'll listen to you." Coming out of the bush, a squirrel in her jaws, Meadowleaf looked at Bluepatch for a moment, then his sister. Dropping the prey and burying it, she walked over, closer, to the two. "I'm constantly telling Sorrelpaw she needs to get over it, she's a good apprentice, and she'll be a good warrior. But that isn't going to ever convince her. Then again, you're not her sister, maybe she will actually listen to you."
"Oh, hey there Meadowleaf." Bluepatch said, smiling at the other warrior who had just come. "I'm sure she listens to you, anyone who wouldn't is really not too bright. You have to be one of the smartest cats in the clan. You're definately one of the best warrior's, a lot more reliable and loyal than the others." Looking to Sorrelpaw, the tom said, "You're lucky to have her as a sister Sorrelpaw. She's a good cat to try and be just as good as."
"Er, uh-huh." the brown she-cat said, nodding. She forced a small smile on her face, though it definately was difficult. I'm never going to be anything like Meadowleaf. She's always been a great warrior. The only thing that could perhaps even get close to matching her is my loyalty to the clan. Sorrelpaw watched the two warriors for a moment, eyes shifting from her sister to Bluepatch. Perhaps they'd just ignore her for a moment, maybe longer. She was sure Bluepatch would.

Smiling at Sorrelpaw, Bluepatch looked over to Meadowleaf. "So, Meadowleaf, what are you doing out here anyways? I hope not spying on us? You don't have to really, it's not like I was going to attack Sorrelpaw or anything like that." he said, small grin on his face.
Shrugging, she said, "No, I wasn't actually. I was just out hunting, thought it would be a good use of my time. Anyways, I don't really have to worry about that with you. I don't really know you all too well or anything, but I know you're an okay cat Bluepatch. One of the few cats in this clan who can actually be trusted. Sorrelpaw even knows that, you're one of the few cats that she'll actually talk to." Looking over to her sister for a moment, Meadowleaf corrected herself. "I lie, you're the only other cat that she'll talk to with the exception of me. Sorrelpaw, get over here, you don't need to just stand over there. I didn't mean to bother you two, I was just hunting." Getting up, the brown she-cat took a few steps over to her sister. "I should probably get going actually."
"Alright, if you want. But you don't have to." the tom said, in a rather calm voice. "I'm sure Sorrelpaw wouldn't mind. Would you Sorrelpaw?" Bluepatch looked at the apprentice, green eyes soft and kind. He didn't want to be rude to her; then again, it wasn't like they were doing much. Sorrelpaw was acting as if she was frightened to death from him.

"Uh, I-I..." Sorrelpaw hesitated for a moment. She wasn't really sure what to say, at first. But, despite wha she wanted to say, she said quite the opposite. "S-Sure she can. I-if you want Bluepatch, I don't m-mind." she mewed, looking at the ground.
"Alright, great." he said, not very enthusiastically. However, the tom was feeling quite happy inside. But it definately wasn't like him to lose his rather cool attitude. "Shall we get going then?" Bluepatched watched Meadowleaf for a moment. He quickly glanced over to Sorrelpaw, however, and when Meadowleaf was ahead, he looked back to her. "Come on Sorrelpaw, don't want to leave your sister waiting, now do we?"
"N-no..." the she-cat muttered, knowing he wasn't paying attention. Still, Bluepatch was staying behind near her. But as Sorrelpaw looked over to the tom from the corner of her eye, she could plainly see he was looking at Meadowleaf. Of course he's happy she's here. I'm just some stupid boring apprentice. Meadowleaf is...well, she's a warrior. She's actually exciting, or has more to say than I do. Sighing, Sorrelpaw went ahead of Bluepatch, catching up to her sister.

Meadowleaf looked down to her side, seeing Sorrelpaw near her. "Is something wrong?" the brown she-cat asked, watching her sister carefully. "You seemed to be having an alright time. It seemed as if you were engaging in conversation, which is quite amazing."
"I-uh-" Sorrelpaw realy had no clue what to say, and merely shrugged. "Y-yeah, I mean, I don't know. I guess? I wasn't doing anything, he asked me to talk about something, and I-I, just came up with a st-stupid topic."
"Don't say that Sorrelpaw." Bluepatch said, chiming in his voice. The tom quickly sped up to keep up with them. "You're sister is right. And besides, I thought it wasn't stupid. You probably don't think there's a lot you can talk about that would interest me. But you'd be surprised, really"

"N-n-no, t-trust me, there's nothing i-interesting in my life." Sorrelpaw muttered, looking down at the ground. She had nothing to say to Bluepatch, and she definitely didn't want to look stupid in front of her sister, or say something stupid in front of her. If she did anything, it would be where Meadowleaf couldn't find her.
"Just talk to him Sorrelpaw, you don't have to be a mouse when I'm around. Even if you normally are, you need to learn to speak to others, engage in conversations." Meadowleaf said, looking down at her sister. She had seen, or what seemed, to be Sorrelpaw talking to Bluepatch, and actually starting it. Just because she was here now didn't mean she had to stop talking."
"I-" Sorrelpaw didn't really know what to say. She looked over to Bluepatch for a moment. But as he gave her a warm smile, it only threw her in silence more. "I-N-nothing, didn't do..." The apprentice couldn't seem to get a word out even, let alone a sentence. Sighing, she just walked beside Meadowleaf, Bluepatch on her other side, in silence.

Bluepatch watched Sorrelpaw for a moment, sighing to himself. Well, it seemed she didn't want to talk anymore. He'd just talk to Meadowleaf now. The tom had wanted to talk tot he other warrior before, but he didn't want to be rude to Sorrelpaw. The blue and white warrior walked a bit closer to Meadowleaf. Giving her a small smile, he asked, "So, what's up with you Meadowleaf? You were appantly out hunting on your own. I guess you didn't have anyone to go with?"
"No, not really." the light brown she-cat said. "I suppose it's partial case, but there really is no point in hunting with someone else. They can always mess things up, or make me miss something. It's usually better, in my opinion at least, to hunt alone. But I guess it isn't for everyone, to hang around with themself."
"Oh, yeah." he said, nodding slightly. "I guess you've never been a very social cat. Always more interested, or more invested in your duties as a warrior than friends and such, huh? I can understand where you come from." Bluepatch indeed could understand;Meadowleaf had always been an achiever, she always wanted to do her duty to the clan, first and foremost. It was very responsible of her, everything she did was. Still, Bluepatch always wondered, sometimes even wished, if she would think of other things, especially a relationship with someone.

"Well it doesn't really matter now, does it?" she questioned, looking at him for a moment. "I guess I don't really bother with friends, or anything like that. There's no point in it. The clan will always need loyal warriors, and I always want to do everything in my power to do such. Friends come, friends go. They betray you. Why bother with the issue?"
"Oh, uh, yeah, I guess you're right." he muttered, nodding slowly. She certainly did seem to be the paranoid type, though she was much too down to earth to really be paranoid. "Well, there are always some cats you can trust, yeah? I know you'd never stop trusting Sorrelpaw."
"Of course not, that would be stupid. Sorrelpaw is my sister. She's not like the others in this clan anyways. She knows what it means to be loyal to the clan. I have no doubt that she'll be a great warrior in a few moons."
"Well of course she will." Bluepatch said, nodding. He looked over to Sorrelpaw for a moment, eying the quiet and timid she-cat. "You can speak up some Sorrelpaw. We are talking about you after all. But it is true you know, you'll be great. Just like your sister."

Sorrelpaw just looked to the ground, not saying anything. She really wished that they'd stop saying it. Even if it was nice, it was most definitely a lie. She would never be any like Meadowleaf, not even matching her halfway.
Bluepatch looked at the she-cat, frowning. "Really Sorrelpaw, give yourself some credit. You really are great at things."

"Bluepatch, don't waste your time. I've honestly tried time and time again, but she doesn't listen." Meadowleaf looked over to her sister for a moment, green eyes fixed on her. She moved over towards her more, bending down. "You doing alright Sorrelpaw? I can tell you're not happy with me being here, or tagging along with us, quiet. Just tell me and I'll leave. Or just tell me what you want and I'll do it. You were having a good time, oddly enough, before I came up. I'd honestly like you do keep doing so."
Sorrelpaw looked at her sister, though kept her head down mainly. "I-" But she didn't really have anything to say. "N-nothing Meadowleaf. I'm fine, and B-Bluepatch likes you being here. S-someone he can actually t-talk to. Not like m-me." she muttered.
Meadowleaf frowned as she straightened herself out again, still looking at her sister. Pausing for a moment, the she-cat said to Bluepatch, "I'll be right back. I thought I smelt a mouse or something. You and Sorrelpaw stay here, I don't want it to be frightened." Without waiting for a response, the warrior walked off, her steps silent.
