"She's not going to be skittish." Meadowleaf snapped, glaring at him. "She isn't right now either. Sorrelpaw just gets a bit nervous around others, that's all. If anything would look past her slight timidness, then they'd see she's brave as anyone, and twice the hunting as anyone in the clan. She's a pretty good fighter as well, though could use some more brushing up in it. Still, you aren't one to say anything about her. Sorrelpaw is a perfectly good apprentice, and she'll be a perfectly good warrior, hopefully soon. Anyone who knows her is lucky."
"Oh, yeah, of course!" he said, looking around for a moment. He kept forgetting how protective Meadowleaf was of Sorrelpaw. But right now she just seemed to be defending her sister, and glamorizing her. "I'm sure she will be a good warrior. But I'd honestly have to say that you're the best warrior in the clan. You're a great hunter and fighter, really. Sorrelpaw will be happy if she's half of what you are, though I'm sure she'll be more than that. Still, she isn't you Meadowleaf."

"No, she isn't me." the brown she-cat said. "But it doesn't matter. Sorrelpaw will still be a great warrior. She's already a great cat, and I don't think anyone needs to be talking down about her, especially you."
"I didn't say I was- why shouldn't I?" Bluepatch asked, confused. "I'm not saying I was or anything, but still. I really don't understand why me of all people shouldn't be able to. I wouldn't want to Meadowleaf, really. Like I said earlier, she's a good cat, really. And I wouldn't be rude enough to say anything bad about your family. I wouldn't think anything bad about your family, that would be foolish."
"Why? Because I'd claw your ears off?" she asked, voice quite harsh. "Well you'd be a smart one then Bluepatch. Because nobody ever says anything bad about my family, which is Sorrelpaw. And if they ever do, then they'll face the consuquences."

"Well I don't see why anyone would need to say anything bad about either of you." Bluepatch said, looking around awkwardly. This certainly had turned into an odd conversation. "Uh, excuse me for asking, but..."
"What?" she asked, looking over to him, Her voice was still a bit harsh, though she had toned it down some.

"Well, I was wondering why you're suddenyl being so... er, protective of Sorrelpaw. And you seem to be quite angry at me, even though I didn't do anything wrong. Did... did I? If that what you had to talk to Sorrelpaw about earlier? Something I did wrong? Because I'm sorry if I did. I wouldn't want to hurt either of you."
"Whatever." Meadowleaf said, rolling her eyes. "Anyways, no, you did nothing wrong. It's just...something. And I'm not angry at you, and I'm sure you would hurt her. You're a decent tom I guess. It's just something, and you'd be smart not to ask questions."
"Oh, well...that's great!" Face brightening up, Bluepatch looked around for a moment, smile on his face. A moment later he looked to Meadowleaf. "You know, I'm really happy you aren't angry at me or anything like that. Honestly, out of anyone... I, well, I definitely wouldn't want to anger or hurt you in any way."

"Good for you. But you already know it isn't wise to get on my bad side. So, when are we going to hunt? Or are we still looking for something?" Meadowleaf had obviously completely missed the smallest sign in Bluepatche's words. Then again, she didn't think like that...ever.
"Oh, uh, uh-huh." he muttered, looking around. Sighing, the white and blue tom looked to the she-cat, green eyes slightly softer. "Meadowleaf... could you, maybe, could we stop for a moment? I just need to-"
"What do you need Bluepatch? I really need to get back to Sorrelpaw." she said, stopping and looking at him.
"Well honestly, I'm stopping us because Sorrelpaw isn't here." he said, smiling very slightly. "Because I really just wanted to spend some time with you Meadowleaf. Sorrelpaw can take care of herself for a bit, can't she? I just... you know, you're a really good sister to her. Always putting her life in front of yours."

"Alright, I suppose I do." the light brown she-cat said, shrugging. "Is that all?"
"Well, no." he said, biting his lip slightly. "Meadowleaf,,,-sigh- you really are a great sister to her, and you do put her concerns in front of yours and everything. But if I can ask, do you ever think of yourself? Think of...well, several different things. I'm assuming you don't."
"The clan comes first. Well, at least before my needs." she said drily. That was the truth, it always was with Meadowleaf. "But I'm sure you knew that. What is with all these silly questions? I really think we should get to hunting, it's what you wanted to do afterall."

"Well, yeah, but-" Bluepatch paused himself, trying to think if he should really say anything. No...I can just wait a bit longer, I'm sure it won't make any difference. "Nevermind. Yeah, let's get hunting. I guess we need to get some more food for the clan, they definitely need it."

After they had seemed to have hunted for a bit, Bluepatch tried to talk to Meadowleaf again. "Uh, do you think we could rest shortly. I mean, we have caught quite a bit already. Once we collect it, we can probably go back to camp. But there's nothing wrong with just taking a small rest, is there?"
Thinking for a moment, Meadowleaf shook her head. "I suppose there's nothing wrong with taking a break. But let's make it quick, I need to get back to see how Sorrelpaw is." Looking around quickly, the warrior took a spot over under a tree, sitting down.

"Right, Sorrelpaw." he said, nodding slightly. "Uh, Meadowleaf, we don't really have, I mean, you don't really have to hurry to get back to Sorrelpaw, do you? It's just..."
"I need to make sure she's alright." the brown she-cat said, without Bluepatch finishing his sentence. But a moment later, she figured he was trying to say something else. "What else were you saying? It's just what?"
"It's just..." sighing, the white and blue warrior said, "Meadowleaf, I don't mean to be rude about this or anything. Last thing I would want is you to think I am, or to be angry at me about something. But... it's just that you're always caring about Sorrelpaw. She can take care of herself. Soon enough she'll be a warrior I'm sure, and eventually, one day, she'll probably have her mate to make sure she's safe. That is if you'd ever let her have one. But that's not really what I'm trying to get at."

"Well then get at what you want to say." Meadowleaf said, rather forcefully. She was getting somewhat irritated with Bluepatch right now. It was probably because of what she knew, how Sorrelpaw liked her. Well, whatever; she'd try to be somewhat patient.
"I'm sorry Meadowleaf, I didn't mean to get you angry." he said, pushing back some from where he had been sitting. "But...Meadowleaf, do you ever think of... of what's good for yourself? I mean, it's just because... I don't really know how to say it, but...and I know you really want to take care of Sorrelpaw, and she's the only one you think of, but-"
"What are you trying to say Bluepatch?!" Meadowleaf hissed, quite irritated now. "Just spill it out already, will you?" She had never imagined she could get this angry at someone that wasn't Thistleclaw. Then again, it had happened. However, what happened next she definitely didn't expect.

Quickly bending over to her, Bluepatch quickly licked Meadowleaf's cheek, a small purr coming from his as well. But he quickly drew back, though not all the way. He wanted to see what she would do.
"What are you doing!?" she shouted, jumping up. "Are you crazy? Just doing that like it's nothing big?! You have some nerve to even-"
"I'm sorry Meadowleaf, but... you wanted me to tell you what was wrong, or what was up, and I didn't have any other way to tell you. I-I have like you so much Meadowleaf. I love you, honestly. I'm sorry if it scared you, or whatever, when I did that, but it's the honest truth."
"WHAT!!?" Taking a step back, Meadowleaf's eyes were narrowed, her entire being flared up. "How dare you- you-no- Sor- how dare- what are you doing? You're crazy, just crazy. If it was something like that, you should have kept yourself away from me, and left me alone. You should never have even give it another thought than when you did. Honestly Bluepatch, honestly!"

"I'm sorry Meadowleaf!" he shouted, cringing some. "But...I'm sorry. I just have been trying so hard not to get you angry, because I was afraid that you would never talk to me again or something. But you... you're angry at me because of this. I'm so sorry, I really am, but I can't help it. I've been hoping that something would happen, to where I wouldn't have to come out and just say it like that, but it never did. And I was fairly certain it never would. I don't know why you're so angry at me. I can't help that I love you."
"No, no, NO!" Pacing back and forth, Meadowleaf looked over at him. "I can't believe you... I can't believe I actually came out here with you, and that I'm actually hearing this, after talking with Sorrelpaw about-" Catching herself in time, Meadowleaf continued to shake her head, and pace back and forth. "You..you have some nerve Bluepatch, some nerve!"

"Why are you..." Voice drifting off, Bluepatch looked down at the ground, his entire being quite downtrodden. After a moment, he looked up at Meadowleaf. "I said I was sorry Meadowleaf, I didn't mean to get you angry. I mean, I assumed you wouldn't come out and say you feel the same way about me, but I honestly didn't think it would bother you so much that someone feels like that about you, that you'd hate them. I'm really sorry."
"Whatever." she mumbled, still flaring. "You don't have to keep apologizing, but honestly Bluepatch. Of everyone, it had to be you. And it had to be me, you've got to be kidding me. Actually telling me this, it was a mistake on your part. You should never have said anything. I was already on boundaries with you because... because of something, and now...you've pushed it Bluepatch, really."

"Meadowleaf, I don't understand why you're acting like this." he said, voice desperate as the tom stepped towards her. "I mean, I could understand the surprise, but the complete hate towards her...it just doesn't make sense. You said you had a reason to not like me before, I won't question you on it, but... I really do wish I knew."
"Well you won't." she light brown she-cat snapped, eyes narrowed at him. "In fact, you're...nobody needs to know about this. When we get back to camp, which is where we're going now, you're not going to say anything, got it? Just... if you want me to not hate you, then you'll forget all about it and say nothing ever."
Hurt look in his eyes, Bluepatch was about to say something, though he stopped. Lowering his head to the ground, the tom nodded. "Y-yeah, alright Meadowleaf. You don't want anyone to know, then they won't. And...I'll try my best to forget about it, and hopefully you won't hate me soon. Though I won't keep my hopes up." As the tom began to walk, the hurt look was still in his eye, but he needed to ignore it. If she was really going to hate him, then he'd have to let her, even if why she did was unknown.

Once back to camp, Meadowleaf quickly dropped the small amount of prey she caught during the rather disturbing outing, then made her way towards the apprentices' den. She's need to briefly talk to her sister. "Sorrelpaw, come out." the light brown she-cat said, voice quite demanding.
"Y-Yes?" Poking her head out, the young she-cat saw her sister, and walked over to her quickly. "Did you need me for something Meadowleaf? I didn't do anything, did I? You...didn't...say anything, did you?" Sorrelpaw's voice began to quiver with fear. If her sister had said anything to the tom... she would never be able to face him again.
